ERIE, Pa. (Nov. 6) – The California University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team closed out the season on Saturday evening with a 3-0 loss at Mercyhurst in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

With the loss, the Vulcans finished the year with a 3-13-1 overall record and ranked ninth in the divisional standings with 10 points on a 3-12-1 mark. Early in the first half, the Lakers recorded five shots and four corner kicks in the initial nine minutes of the contest. The Vulcans responded with a shot on goal in the 16th minute before Mercyhurst scored at the 27:58-mark, as Emily Mijares took a cross from Sydney Snyder and beat the goalkeeper to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead. Mercyhurst tallied nine more shots in the half, four of which were saved by freshman goalkeeper Emily Ouimet (Berwick, Pa./Berwick).
