CALIFORNIA (Nov. 17) – The Vulcans had five players score in double-digits on Monday night, led by 17 points off the bench from senior
Arman Marks (Louisville, Ky./Eastern), in an 89-64 victory against Penn State-Fayette in the Convocation Center.
With the win, the California University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team improves to 2-1 overall while playing its first game at home this year. Meanwhile, Penn State-Fayette drops to 2-2 this season after winning its initial two games of the campaign.
Marks finished with 17 points on six-of-nine shooting, including three-of-four from beyond the arc, in 25 minutes. He also tied for the team lead with seven rebounds and added a pair of steals.

Tony Richardson (Sterling, Va./Dominion) totaled 14 points, three rebounds and three blocks in just 12 minutes off the bench. Junior transfer

Drew Cook (Beaver Falls, Pa./Beaver Falls) collected 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Junior guard
Jake Jacubec (Struthers, Ohio/Struthers) added 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in the victory.

Khalil Jabbie (Alexandria, Va./Edison) tallied 11 assists against the Roaring Lions, marking the most assists in a single game since the 2007-08 season.
Cal U raced out to a 7-0 lead in the opening 90 seconds game before Penn State-Fayette answered with an 8-3 run to cut the deficit to 10-8 with 15:20 left in the first half. The Vulcans countered with a 13-3 rally over five-plus minutes to stretch their lead to 23-11 on a layup by Richardson at the 9:45-mark. Penn State-Fayette worked the deficit down to 29-23 with 3:45 left in the first half before Cal U built its lead back to double-digits at 35-25 with a dunk by Richardson at 2:03-mark. The Vulcans took a 37-29 lead into the break after the trio of Cook, Jacubec and Richardson combined for 26 points in the first half.
The Vulcans mounted a 14-2 run over nearly five minutes in the second half to take a 57-38 lead with 11:19 left in the game. After the teams traded points, Cal U scored eight-unanswered points to take a 75-49 lead on a layup by Jabbie at the 6:10-mark. The Vulcans eventually extended their lead to as many as 28 points at 87-59 on a three-pointer by freshman guard

Cal U finished the game shooting 53.1 percent (34-of-64) from the field and 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from beyond the arc. In comparison, Penn State-Fayette shot at a 35.4 percent clip (23-of-65) from the floor and 29.4 percent (5-of-17) from long range. The Vulcans out-rebounded the Roaring Lions by a 46-34 margin and scored 44 points from in the paint.
Senior Matt McKenna scored a game-high 23 points for the Roaring Lions and also added a team-high eight rebounds. Senior Jacob Bronder added 16 points, six rebounds (four offensive) and two blocks in the losing effort.
The Vulcans return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 19, when they open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play by hosting Mercyhurst at 7:30 p.m.
