A former All-American distance runner, Jackie (Pacentrilli) Caulfield enters her 14th season as an assistant coach with the Cal U cross country and track & field programs.

Caulfield and head coach Daniel Caulfield, her husband, have helped the Vulcans achieve several team milestones over the last decade, while featuring some of the top distance runners in school history.

In 2015, the Cal U women’s cross country team won the NCAA Regional Championship for the first time in school history and also earned a team qualifier for the NCAA Division II National Championships for the first time in school history. The Vulcans have been represented at the national race in each of the past six years. Last season, Cal U matched its best-ever team finish at the PSAC Championships while featuring the top-two overall runners for the first time in program history.

Caulfield came to Cal U after serving as an assistant coach at Adams State, her alma mater, in Alamosa, Colorado. She helped the Grizzlies capture three-straight NCAA National Championships in cross country from 1997-99, while the school boasted over 20 individual national champions and nearly 100 All-Americans.

During her college career, Caulfield earned All-America status in both the 5K and 10K. She finished third in the 5K as a senior at the NCAA Championships during the indoor season and was a member of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) All-Academic teams throughout her career.

Caulfield received her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Adams State before completing her master’s degree in health and physical education.

She and her husband Daniel reside in California with their daughter, Ellie.
