Rick Bertagnolli, the Vulcans clinched their third-consecutive PSAC West title and enter the post-season having won seven of their last 10 games, and 16 of their last 19.
Offensively, Cal U is led by the quintet of senior first baseman
Sarah Spiering (Upper Burrell, Pa./Burrell), juniors, designated player
Alyson Johnson (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg Central), left fielder
Kristen McKenzie (Senneville, Quebec/St. Thomas) and shortstop
Jillian Russell (London, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic) and freshman second baseman
Shelby Lia (Whitby, Ontario/Donald A. Wilson).
Russell leads the team and conference with 48 RBI and ranks second in the conference with 13 homers. Her .803 slugging percentage and eight stolen bases are also tops for the Vulcans. Johnson leads the team and conference with a .425 batting average as well as 14 doubles. Spiering's .467 on-base percentage ranks among the league leaders and is tops for Cal U. McKenzie is tied for second on the team and in the PSAC with 13 doubles, while Lia leads the Vulcans with 38 runs scored.
On the mound, two-time reigning PSAC West Pitcher of the Week
Hope Spancake (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) leads the team with a 14-2 record, 1.79 ERA, nine complete games, four shutouts and 85 strikeouts in 113.1 innings. Classmate
Kaitlyn Schilling (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) boasts a 9-5 record with a 2.16 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 87.2 innings.

The Bald Eagles, led by second-year head coach Kelly Shannon, finished the season with a 24-10 overall record and 10-5 mark in the PSAC Central and clinched the second seed from the Central via tiebreaker.
On the season, five Bald Eagles are batting above .300 as senior first baseman Brittany Pataky leads the team with a .385 average. Sophomore catcher Alicia Cacciotti has posted five homers, 13 doubles and 28 RBI to pace the offense.
Lock Haven boasts a young pitching staff with sophomore Sarah Morse and freshman Nicole Smith combining to start all 34 games. For the season, Morse leads the team with a 2.19 ERA while registering a 12-6 record and one save in 19 starts. In 124.2 innings, she has posted three shutouts and 75 strikeouts. Smith possesses a 2.32 ERA and a 12-4 record while posting 67 strikeouts in 96.2 innings.

West Chester, under eighth-year head coach Diane Lokey, finished the regular season with a 30-17 record and 9-7 in the PSAC East, earning the third seed in the East.
Four Golden Rams possess batting averages at, or above, .300, with senior outfielder Erin MacNamee pacing the offense at .354. Senior catcher Kate Kmiecinski leads the team with 10 homers and her 29 RBI rank second on the team behind junior second baseman Abby Block's 31 RBI.
The Golden Rams also have a young pitching staff with freshman Kim Murl and sophomore Devon Utterback combining to make 42 of 47 starts. Murl leads the team with a 2.22 ERA and has amassed a record of 14-9 with 14 complete games, two shutouts and four saves. In 151.2 innings, she has registered 82 strikeouts compared to just 21 walks. Utterback's ERA for the season is 2.89, while she boasts a 14-5 record with eight complete games, one shutout and one save. The sophomore is averaging close to 1.0 strikeout per inning, having posted 109 strikeouts in 121.0 innings of work.
