Mayo, Mulabah earn preseason honors

SOUTHFIELDS, N.Y. (Aug. 19) – California University of Pennsylvania seniors Thomas Mayo (Reston, Va./South Lakes) and Thomas Mulabah (Sterling, Va./Parkview) were recently named preseason All-Americans by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) and the D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl selection committee.

The D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl is a postseason all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players from the NCAA Division II and NAIA levels. The all-star game will be presented by the CDFL and will be held on Dec. 3 in the New York City metro area.

A preseason First-Team All-American, Mayo continues to garner preseason accolades after playing at Concord (W.Va.) the last three seasons. In each of the last two years, the 6-2 wide receiver has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards and combined for 25 receiving touchdowns.

Mulabah, a preseason Second-Team All-American, has been a standout on the Cal U defensive line throughout his career and received All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West laurels last season. A 6-2 defensive lineman, he posted 27 tackles (11 solo), 7.0 TFL and 2.5 sacks last season in his second year as a starter.

Mayo and Mulabah are two of 11 senior standouts from the PSAC to receive preseason honors from CDFL/D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl.

The D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl selection committee will review player performance throughout the 2011 season and will invite 40 players from each level for an all-star game between the two levels.
