MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (May 9) – Junior
Frank Ehrensberger (Saint Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic) posted a pair of second-place finishes on Saturday, as the California University of Pennsylvania men's track & field team finished seventh in the team standings of the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Millersville University.
Shippensburg University captured the team championship with 143.5 points, topping East Stroudsburg University (137). Lock Haven University finished in third place with 111 points, while Indiana University of Pennsylvania (79) edged Slippery Rock (75) for fourth place.
Ehrensberger finished second in the finals of the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a NCAA Division II Championship provisional-qualifying time of 47.41 seconds. In yesterday's preliminaries of the 400 meters, he placed second in 47.86 seconds. Ehrensberger also placed second on Friday in the finals of the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 21.47 seconds. The junior sprinter posted a time of 21.77 seconds in the preliminaries earlier in the championships.
Freshman
Ryan Schleicher (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) accounted for five points in the team standings after finishing fourth in the javelin throw on Saturday. As only a freshman, he posted a heave of 59.81 meters (196-03 feet).
In the 1,500-meter run, graduate student
Christopher Clark (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry) finished fifth overall with a time of 3 minutes, 59.34 seconds. On the first day of the PSAC Championships, he captured the individual title in the 10,000-meter run.
Junior
Dennis Cole (Washington, Pa./Canon-McMillan) finished fifth in the finals of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.85 seconds after finishing eighth in yesterday's preliminaries. In the 400-meter hurdle finals, senior
Tony Morinello (Plum, Pa./Plum) crossed the finish line in 59.24 seconds to place seventh overall.

Vince Wilson (Bear, Del./Middletown), junior
Terrence Johnson (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) and Cole finished fifth in the finals with a time of 41.89 seconds.
Freshman
Alex Smith (South Park, Pa./South Park) earned five points for the team score after finishing the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.00 to finish fourth overall.
Select members of the Vulcans will conclude the season at the 2009 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 21-23 in San Angelo, Texas.
