SAN ANGELO, Texas (May 21) – California University of Pennsylvania graduate student
Christopher Clark (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry) earned All-America honors and finished eighth overall in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday in the first day of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Angelo State University (Texas).
Clark placed eighth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 30 minutes, 50.41 seconds. He is now a four-time All-American during his Cal U career and will compete in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Championships tomorrow, Friday, May 22, at 8:45 p.m. CDT.
Sophomore Daniel Kirwa of Harding University (Ark.) won the 10K title for a second-straight season with a time of 29:46.84.
Junior
Frank Ehrensberger (Saint Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic) ran a time of 47.17 seconds in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash. He finished fifth in his heat and 13th overall in the 20-sprinter field. His time was 14-tenths of a second shy of qualifying for the finals of the 400 meters.
Freshman Dane Hyatt of Lincoln University (Mo.) ran the top time in the preliminaries of the 400 meters with a time 46.07 seconds.
