Day 1 Results
EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 28) – In the first day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, sophomore
Brice Myers (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and junior
Frank Ehrensberger (Saint Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic) advanced to the finals in their respective events.
Myers posted the top time in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.61 seconds after entering the championships with the top time of any athlete in the PSAC. He won the preliminary event by one-hundredth of a second and will race in the finals tomorrow, Sunday, March 1, at 12:15 p.m.
In the 400-meter dash, Ehrensberger finished seventh overall in the 22-runner preliminaries and second in his heat with a time of 50.26 seconds. He will race in tomorrow's final of the 400 meters at 12:40 p.m. Ehrensberger also posted a 10th-place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 22.67 seconds.
Juniors
Dennis Cole (Washington, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and
Terrence Johnson (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) finished No. 12 and 15 in the 55-meter dash, respectively.
Senior
Anthony Freer (New Castle, Pa./Union) registered a 14th-place finish in the weight throw, posting a heave of 14.71 meters (48-03.25 feet).
After the first day of competition, Shippensburg University is in first place with 49 points, followed closely by Lock Haven University (44) and host East Stroudsburg University (40).
The second day of the PSAC Championships is schedule to resume at 10:30 a.m. in the Koehler Fieldhouse and Zimbar Gymnasium on the campus of East Stroudsburg University.
