Vulcans, Bosch receive All-Academic honors

PHOENIX (Nov. 7) – The California University of Pennsylvania swimming team and senior Ester Bosch (Barcelona, Spain/Universidad Ramon Illull) each received Academic All-American honors by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently.

The Vulcans were one of 28 women's swimming teams to meet the requirement of a team grade-point average of 3.00 or higher. Cal U posted a team GPA of 3.11 during the Spring 2008 semester and was one of five Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) programs to earn CSCAA Academic All-American status.

Bosch was one of 43 women swimmers in Division II to earn individual Academic All-America honors by posting a GPA of 3.50 or higher. The two-time All-American maintained a 3.585 GPA during her first semester with the Vulcan program last spring.

Cal U returns to action tomorrow, Nov. 8, with a home meet against Wheeling Jesuit University and PSAC-newcomer Gannon University. Events are scheduled for a 1 p.m. start in Hamer Hall.
