INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 10) – In a rematch of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship, the Vulcans will face Millersville University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 14.
The California University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team earned the program's second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the school's first-ever PSAC Championship on Saturday against the Marauders.
The Vulcans are one of four PSAC teams making appearances in the field of 32 teams, joining East Stroudsburg University, Millersville and Slippery Rock University.
Cal U currently holds a 13-7-2 record after winning four of its last five games with three wins against Top 25 teams in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas national poll. Over the last 10 days, Cal U went from fourth place in the conference standings and out of the conference tournament to earning an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
The Vulcans will be making their third trip to Millersville this season with the two teams splitting the first two meetings. The Marauders posted a 3-2 regular season win before the Vulcans posted a 3-2 comeback win on Saturday in the “State Game.”
