One of the fastest swimmers in program history, Ester Bosch was a standout in freestyle events from 2008-10. She was a six-time NCAA All-American over five different events, plus received NCAA All-America Honorable Mention six times. A native of Spain, Bosch garnered All-PSAC accolades a combined 14 times over three seasons with eight designations being as a member of relay teams.
Bosh captured the program’s first league title in three years at the 2008 PSAC Championships when she won the 200 freestyle by over 2.5 seconds. She also placed second in the finals of the 100 freestyle and was third in the finals of the 50 freestyle, plus was the leadoff leg on the 200 freestyle relay that finished third overall. Bosch finished seventh in both the 100 and 200 freestyle at the NCAA Championships in Missouri to earn All-America status. The following year, Bosch helped the Vulcans register their best finish in program history at the PSAC Championships by finishing third in the team standings. She repeated as the league champion in the 200 freestyle with a school-record time of 1 minute, 50.59 seconds and also earned the conference crown in the 500 freestyle. Bosch collected All-PSAC laurels in seven events in 2009, including five times while a member of relay teams. She set the school record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:57.52 during the finals of the event at the NCAA Championships in Houston. Bosch received All-America accolades in three events during her junior campaign, plus garnered NCAA All-America Honorable Mention in three additional events. She repeated as an All-American in the 200 freestyle and anchored the 200 freestyle relay – the first All-American relay team in program history. Her leadoff split during the preliminaries of the relay still ranks among the school’s top-five times in the 50 freestyle. Bosh also established a personal best during the preliminaries of the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.96 seconds, which is the third-best mark in school history. As a senior, Bosch garnered All-PSAC laurels as a member of three relay times at the conference meet. She later was the anchor leg of the All-American 800 freestyle relay at the NCAA Championships in Canton. The Vulcans set a then-school record with a time of 7:38.88 to finish eighth in the event. Bosch also earned All-America Honorable Mention in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay in 2010.
Bosch completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2010. She is the third women’s swimmer in school history to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, all in the last four years.
