LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 30) – After winning the William Bing-Beall Classic in a playoff, California University of Pennsylvania sophomore
Dianne Luke (Mirisarawak, Malaysia/Saint Columba) was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Co-Athlete of the Week by the league office on Wednesday.
Luke won her first career individual title on Tuesday at the two-day event hosted by the University of Findlay. She finished the tournament tied with Caitlin Bennett of Grand Valley State for first place on the leaderboard at eight-over 152 (77-75) before winning the invitational in a playoff against Bennett.
She helped lead the Vulcans to a third-place team finish at the 10-team Bing-Beall Classic. The PSAC Freshman of the Year last season, Luke now has eight career top-10 finishes.
Luke shared the PSAC Athlete of the Week honor with East Stroudsburg freshman Karen Cash, who won the rain-shortened Clarion Invitational. Luke joins teammate junior
Jenna Rothermel (Danville, Pa./Danville) as Cal U recipients of the PSAC honor this fall.
